Implementing virtual darkness in old age psychiatry

Implementing changes in health care has been compared to rebuilding a boat while sailing. We will share experiences from doing a randomized controlled trial on virtual darkness in specialized hospital ward. The research team in dialogue with stakeholders in the hospital will discuss themes like: how to involve, engage and reduce burden for staff; what to do when external conditions, like street lights, affect the study; how to balance implementation with the daily running of the ward; how can a dedicated research nurse contribute; what to do when essential stakeholders suddenly drop out?
